A Community of Practice (CoP) is an informal network – a group of people who share a common sense of purpose and desire to exchange knowledge and experiences in an area of common interest. Though mutual learning and networking, the CoP aims to develop and strengthen core competencies by:

  • Developing and spreading good practices
  • Connecting “islands of knowledge” into self-organizing networks of professionals
    Fostering cross-functional collaboration
  • Overview of the activities of the Asian Community of Practice on MfDR
  • Discussion of lessons learned with members of the new African CoP

Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) Common Performance Assessment System (COMPAS)
  Introduction of the COMPAS: A systematic framework for collecting consistent information on how MDBs organize themselves to ensure that their operations are geared towards results.

Presentation of the COMPAS 2006 report: a joint product of the African Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the World Bank.
